Cookie Policy
This page explains the cookies Rayl Technologies BV uses on this website, what each one does, and how you can change your mind about the optional ones. It complements our Privacy Policy.
1. What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. Cookies can be set by the site you’re visiting (“first-party”) or by another domain whose content is loaded on the page (“third-party”). They can last only for the duration of your session, or persist for a defined period.
2. The cookies we set
All cookies we set are first-party. We split them into two categories: strictly necessary and optional.
Strictly necessary
These are required for the site to work. They’re set without consent because they don’t track you across sites and you can’t use the site without them.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
rayl_consent |
Remembers your cookie banner choice so we don’t ask again on every page. | 12 months |
rayl_session |
Anonymous session identifier used for basic abuse prevention and load balancing. | 12 months |
Optional
These are only set if you click “Accept all” in the banner.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
rayl_analytics |
Enables usage analytics. When set, we also log each page view server-side with your IP address, approximate location (country/region/city), page, referrer and user-agent, retained up to 12 months. See the Privacy Policy. Not set if you decline. | 12 months |
rayl_prefs |
Stores non-essential preferences such as UI choices you’ve made. | 12 months |
3. Third-party services
The homepage globe loads a world-map dataset from a public CDN (jsDelivr) and fonts from Google Fonts. These providers do not set tracking cookies for us, but they may log your IP address as part of normal HTTP request handling. We do not pass them any personal data.
4. How to manage cookies
You have several options:
- Use the banner that appears on your first visit to accept or reject optional cookies.
- Clear the
rayl-cookie-consententry in your browser’s storage to make the banner reappear and re-decide. - Clear cookies entirely through your browser settings. Note that this will also reset your preference and the banner will show again on your next visit.
- Most browsers let you block all cookies. The site will still load but optional features may not work.
5. Do Not Track
Because there is no consistent industry interpretation of Do Not Track signals, we do not currently respond to them. Your explicit choice in the cookie banner always takes precedence.
6. Changes
If we add or remove cookies, we’ll update this page. Material changes will also be surfaced through the cookie banner so you can re-confirm your choice.
